Looking for track laborers for the 2024 work season estimated to start around end of March, early April depending on weather. 

Starting Hourly Rate:  $23 - 25/hr depending on experience.

Typical work week, 40 - 45 hours, M - Th, typically done by noon on Friday's. 

Drivers license required and own transportation to job sites.

Work includes lining up railroad ties, rail, driving spikes and leveling ballast. All tools are provided on the job. Must have the ability to do manual labor and lift up to 75 pounds. 

Job locations vary in the Des Moines area. Occasional out of town travel needed - hotel rooms provided and assistance with travel costs such as fuel. Travel typically is located within 2 - 4 hours of the Des Moines area. Most work will be located in the state of Iowa, some work in eastern to central Nebraska. 

Job Requirements: 

- Steel toed boots - purchased by employee  

- Hard hats, gloves, reflective vests and eye protection provided.  

Workers that routinely show up to work are rewarded and moved up the pay scale quickly. Longer term opportunities exist to run heavy equipment and advancement opportunities with additional experience.

Employees are paid every Friday for previous week worked.

Overtime paid at time and a half. 

Paid Holidays during the working season (typically April through mid-December depending on the weather).

Profit sharing paid at the end of the work season. 

Retirement Plans, paid annually by the employer, managed by a personal investment advisor at no expense to the employee.
